Today it’s all about Heath Ledger and Jared Leto when it comes to The Joker discussion. However, we’d be crazy to forget the performance that Jack Nicolson gave in the 1989 Batman film directed by Tim Burton. So, we decided to find the Best 80s Joker Costume Idea as Halloween nears.
Jack Nicolson personified what it was to be the evil villain by the name of The Joker in the Batman film. As for his look, well, it was the classic joker look. It differed significantly from the Suicide Squad Joker and Ledger’s outfit was slightly similar. When it all comes down to it, nothing beats the classic get up.
For our Joker costume idea, we want to concentrate on the facial features. As you can see in the video below, The Joker is wearing a permanent grin which can be achieved with the proper prosthetics. Once applied, the pale white makeup can be applied, followed by a little red face paint for the lips.
Instead of dying your hair green, we suggest finding a nice slick wig as his hair was not quite as messy as Ledger’s was but not quite as perfect as Leto’s was. Then it’s on to finding a shiny green button down shirt, purple and green polka dot tie, purple suit and white gloves.
To cap it all off, you might want to invest in a cane and some patent leather dress shoes to really make the outfit pop. Don’t forget to practice your most sinister Joker laugh.
