Every once-in-awhile artists who are captivated by a decade may start to pattern their music behind it. We’re not saying that’s what Computer Games has done, though their track “Lost Boys Life” really seems to fit that mold very much.
“Indie alt-pop band Computer Games, comprised of frontman Darren Crissand multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Chuck Criss, have released their second music video for their album’s title track, ‘Lost Boys Life.’ Directed by Mia Elan, the video incorporates live shots from Computer Games’ first ever and sold-out show in Los Angeles at the Teragram Ballroom. Breakout star Gaten Matarazzo from Netflix’s global phenomenon series Stranger Things stars in the video as the conflicted lost boy, navigating through his somewhat mundane life,” according to a release for the track.
The band released their debut album in early March entitled Lost Boys Life EP, which has received astonishing praise. Entertainment Weekly labeled their sound as “a funky blast to the past in the spirit of some of the grooviest ’80s superstars,” while Teen Vogue described the album as “an indie gem filled with plenty of ’80s pop inspiration and a dash of true DIY sensibility.”
While we bring you lots of 80s classics, we’d like to try and bring you something new, with 80s inspiration that you may enjoy. Take a listen to “Lost Boys Life” below and let us know if you’re digging their sound.
