We are just over a month away from the premiere of the new Dynasty show set to hit The CW. We reported that the network was bringing back the 80s show that ran from 1981 all the way up to the end of the decade in 1989.
The Premiere Date For The New Dynasty Is Approaching
“The CW’s reboot of ‘Dynasty’ will have much in common with the classic 1980s original,” according to StarAdvertiser.
“But the new ‘Dynasty’ aims to ‘kick it up a notch,’ says Elizabeth Gillies, who plays Fallon Carrington, daughter of wealthy industrialist Blake Carrington, on the show. Pamela Sue Martin played her in the original series.”
This character will be a big change for Gillies who once played a rough around the edges teen in Nickelodeon’s Victorious and another rough around the edges rock star in FX’s Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.
She is hanging up the angst for a shot at being a more tuned character with her eyes set on becoming the CEO of a company rather that a rock star.
From the previews of the show, it looks like there will be plenty of backstabbing and drama to go around. So, if you found yourself missing all of the craziness from the 80s, you can bet this new take on the show will fill the void.
John Forsythe, Linda Evans and Joan Collins were some of the stars that graced the show back in the 80s. Look for new faces and new drama to come when Dynasty premieres on October 11.
