Yesterday was Valentine’s Day as you could probably tell from the flood of couple photos, chocolates, roses and all of the other mushy stuff. If that wasn’t for you, if sadness, melancholy and heartbreak happen to be more your thing, one list has you covered. 80s heartbreak was serious and there are a couple of films in particular that highlighted this very well. These films were listed by TampaBayTimes.
80s Heartbreak: Films to Watch After Valentine’s Day
“I particularly recall the time I’d forgotten about the occasion and was forced to buy my girlfriend-at-the-time a half-inflated heart balloon from the neighborhood drug store along with a four-pack of expired wine coolers. I did my best, but I guess my best wasn’t good enough. (But at least it was a nice metaphor.)” wrote Steve Spears of the TampaBayTimes.
“Still, when I peruse my towering collection of dusty ’80s DVDs of ’80s movies, I know I’m not alone in my misery. Here are my 10 favorite “love stinks” movies from our beloved decade.”
Spears would then go on to list a particularly spot on number of 80s heartbreak movies that we can’t be mad at. The list contained: The Last American Virgin, Sophie’s Choice, The Rachel Papers, Big, Fatal Attraction, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Witness, The Verdict, Terms of Endearment and Somewhere in Time.
Who could really argue with a legendary list like that one? We’re sure some of you out there have your own opinions when it comes to 80s heartbreak films and we most certainly welcome them in the comments section below. We hope you all had an awesome Valentine’s Day. If you didn’t, why not watch one of these films?
