Peter Frampton and More 80s Acts Head to South Florida
“Guitarist and vocalist Miller had his biggest hits in the previous decade, but the title track from this 1982 album ‘Abracadabra’ was one of his three singles to hit No. 1 (along with ‘The Joker’ and ‘Rock’n Me’). Miller performs July 21 at the Hard Rock in Hollywood with Peter Frampton, another ’70s icon whose talents had difficulty meshing with ’80s pop, though he did score a hit in 1986 with ‘Lying,'” according to SouthFlorida.
However, Miller and Frampton aren’t the only names heading to South Florida. According to the report, A Flock of Seagulls, The Descendants, Huey Lewis and the News, Kenny Loggins, Culture Club, Erasure, Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper, David Byrne and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark are all heading to South Florida.
“The band that sent a generation of young men to the sewing machine, Boy George and Culture Club accompanied stylish visuals with an irresistibly soulful pop sound,” according to the report.
“They have set a 40-city U.S. summer tour joined by fellow ’80s hit-makers the B-52s and Thompson Twins’ vocalist Tom Bailey, with one of the first stops on July 1 at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater.”
