If you were a fan of Disney original movies in the 80’s you may have enjoyed 1987’s Adventures in Babysitting. Well, the film is now being transformed with a 2016 overhaul featuring fresh faces and of course, a similar plot.
The original film starred Elisabeth Shue, Maia Brewton and Keith Coogan and focused on a pretty troublesome adventure that one babysitter finds herself in when she is tasked with rescuing a stranded friend. As if things couldn’t be harder in the city, she also has to keep track of the tag-a-long kids she was supposed to be babysitting.
The new revamped version will star Sabrina Carpenter, who is already the star of the Boy Meets World remake, Girl Meets World, and Sophia Carson.
“Much like the original, a suburban babysitter must leave her safe surroundings and head for the heart of the big city to rescue a stranded friend, unaware of the perilous adventures that await her and the kids she’s looking after who have tagged along, MovieWeb.”
Like many other film concepts of 2016, 80s classics are continuing to be reimagined in a modern world but it will be interesting to see if the Adventures In Babysitting remake lives up to the original.
MovieWeb speculates that the film could air in July much like the release of the original. However, there is no confirmed release date. Are you excited about the Adventures In Babysitting remake? If so, let us know in the comments section.
