Over 27 years from its initial release, the reissued version of George Michael’s Listen Without Prejudice featuring an all new MTV Unplugged session is on course to be number one on the UK album chart.
George Michael’s ‘Listen Without Prejudice / MTV Unplugged’ on Course For No. 1
“The Listen Without Prejudice re-release coincides with the airing of a documentary about the ex-Wham! singer’s career, which he had been working on before his death on Christmas Day last year,” according to BBC.
“George Michael: Freedom was shown on Channel 4 last week and focused on the period leading up to and following the original release of Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1.”
In 1987, George Michael’s Faith was one of the best albums to be released. It was critically acclaimed and featured an incredibly catching title track. He would later on follow it up with Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 in 1990. The album continued his success as a respected artist who was breaking ground in his very own way.
Unfortunately the world lost Michael in December of 2016. That however, has not stopped his music from continuing to flourish. While newcomer Niall Horan, formerly of One Direction, has been holding out strong with his album Flicker, it looks like the 80s artist still has made a valiant impact in the music world.
It’s nice to see that 80s artists who have paved the way for many current ones are still receiving the respect they deserve today. Here’s to hoping for a number one for 80s George Michael fans and fans of all ages.
