The CW network isn’t just reviving pop culture from the 80s, it’s also going to bring the 80s to one of its most recent hits. In a new report, we have learned that a Riverdale 80s-set episode is in the works. Riverdale is the new hit that is based on characters from the Archie comics.
‘Riverdale’ 80s-Set Episode is in The Works
While the show is taking a much different approach when it comes to the storyline on these characters, it looks like it will celebrate the 80s and that is something we can definitely get on board with.
“Riverdale fans still have two months to wait until the third season premieres on The CW, but soon enough they’ll be going back in time about three decades,” according to BamSmackPow.
“As was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con, an upcoming episode will focus exclusively on the parents’ lives as teenagers in the 1980s with many of the parents being played by their TV kids.”
We don’t anticipate this 80s flashback to be completely bubbly and upbeat. The show has been known to throw some serious dark twists and turns that you would never see coming. It has managed to captivate fans, mostly the younger generation, who, really don’t have much knowledge about the old comics.
Hopefully, with the 80s-set episode, Riverdale can draw some of the 80s Archie comic-lovers and connect the two generations of viewers.
